The clinic

A joint and sports injury clinic in Columbus

Keystone Sports & Orthopedic PT

Most of our patients arrive with a knee or shoulder that stopped doing its job: a sport injury that did not settle, a joint replacement to recover from, or arthritis that has quietly taken things away over the years.

Dr. Marcus Bell, DPT, SCS spent years as a team therapist for a minor league hockey club, and the clinic keeps that approach. We measure the problem, load it deliberately and test it before calling it healed. Seven therapists and two athletic trainers work in the same clinic, so your care does not get handed around.

Insurance and workers' comp

We accept Medicare, workers' compensation and most PPO plans. Call the clinic and we will go through your coverage before your first visit.

How cover works

Measure, then treat

Return-to-sport testing and video gait analysis give us numbers, so progress is something we can show you rather than describe.

What we do best

Four things we do every day

  • ACL and rotator cuff rehabilitation

Progressive loading, hands-on treatment and a plan built around your sport's season rather than a generic timeline.

  • Total joint replacement recovery

Preparation before the operation, then strength and gait work from the first weeks afterwards.

  • Arthritis management and dry needling

Hands-on treatment and a home programme for joints that hurt every day, plus dry needling for stubborn trigger points.

  • Return-to-sport testing and video gait analysis

Strength, hop and movement tests, plus slow motion video of how you walk and run, so going back is a decision with numbers behind it.

What to expect when you come in

How treatment runs here

  • An evaluation first

One appointment to work out what is injured, what it can and cannot do, and what the plan is.

  • Hands-on treatment

Manual therapy and dry needling where they help, alongside the exercise you do here and at home.

  • A home programme you can follow

Written down, with the sets and the days, so the work between visits is clear.

  • Testing before discharge

Strength and movement tests, so the end of treatment is a result rather than a date.

Insurance, workers' comp and Medicare

Keystone accepts Medicare, workers' compensation and most PPO plans. Bring your card to the first visit and we will confirm what your plan covers.

Our patients

What they say about us

I came in eight weeks after ACL surgery, still walking with a limp, and left able to run again. What I liked was being told the numbers each visit instead of being told it looked better.
Dana R., Upper Arlington
After my knee replacement I was nervous about doing too much. They pushed at exactly the right pace, and I was on the stairs at home without thinking about it.
Martin K., Clintonville

Things patients ask about

Why we test before we clear you

Hop tests and strength numbers say more than how the knee feels on a good day. We compare the injured side with the other one, and we show you the figures.

What dry needling actually does

A thin filament needle goes into a tight band of muscle. Most people feel the muscle twitch, then some soreness for a day. It is used alongside exercise, not instead of it.

Gait analysis in one appointment

We record you walking and running, then go through the frames with you on screen, so you can see what your knee and hip are doing at each step.
